To create a portrait that really captures your dog’s personality, the best photos are usually taken in soft, natural light - either near a window or outside in the shade. Try to avoid harsh sunlight or deep shadows, and make sure their eyes are clearly visible, as that’s where so much of their character shines through. Holding a treat just above your phone can be a great way to keep their attention!
Once we’ve discussed photo options via WhatsApp, I’ll usually work from one main image, but it’s really helpful to have a few extra photos - different angles, lighting, or expressions, so I can get a true feel for their personality.
If your beloved dog is no longer with you, I completely understand, I’ll always do my very best to work sensitively with whatever photos you have.
And if you’re unsure which photo to go with, just send me a few, I’m more than happy to take a look and offer guidance. -
Each painting is created on fine linen canvas.
If you'd like it professionally framed and ready to hang, I’m happy to arrange that for small additional fee, ideal if it’s a gift or if you wish to hang the painting immediately.
Unframed canvases can be shipped within the uk for £10. Please contact me for other locations.
